Every year since 1947, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) sponsors a patriotic audio essay competition centered around a particular theme. Students are asked to submit an essay and original audio recording.
This year’s theme was “America: Where do we go from here?” This year the Carlisle Area School District students took all three top spots at the local VFW Post 477 competition.
Congratulations to Dominic Gearhart – 1st Place ($300), Graham Lively – 2nd Place ($200), and Madeline Coombs – 3rd Place ($100).
