ROTARY 4-WAY SPEECH COMPETITION
(Deadline to register - November 2, 2024)

During the fall semester Rotary Club of Carlisle holds the Local Four-Way Test Speech Competition. It is a competition offered to high school students (Grades 10-12) where the student must prepare a five-to-seven-minute speech to illustrate the Rotary Four-Way Test.

DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION ESSAY CONTEST
(Deadline to submit is November 15, 2024)

Select a figure from the era of the American Revolution (1773-1783). Discuss how he or she influenced the course of the American Revolution, who he or she was and the contribution that historic character made to the founding of a new nation.  Your figure must have been an actual person - one who is well-known or an everyday man, woman, or child, who supported the American Revolution in ways large or small.

SONS OF AMERICAN REVOLUTION KNIGHT ESSAY CONTEST
(Postmarked by November 11, 2024)

Theme: 800-1,200-word essay based on an event, person, philosophy, or ideal associated with the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the U.S. Constitution.

"Who is your favorite founding father/mother and why?"

Grades 7-12 Theme:
"There was much debate at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 leading to significant compromises reflected in the ratified U.S. Constitution.  Reflecting on all the ideas brought forth and the compromises made, what do you believe should have been included, that was not, and why?
