League Information:
CGYBA is comprised of two (2) divisions - a White Division & a Green Division.
*The White Division will challenge girls with game play while focusing on fundamentals & team play.
*The Green Division increases in competition by working on more comprehensive aspects of basketball development.
*A team top (jersey shirt) will be provided to each player for the season.
*All registered players will attend an evaluation on November 7th to determine which division they will be placed in. 3rd/4th graders will attend from 5:00 - 6:00 PM and 5th/6th graders will attend from 6:00 - 7:00 PM at Lamberton Middle School. Those interested in the 6th Grade *Travel Team will attend the 6:00 - 7:00 PM tryout (more information on the travel team is below).
Season Information:
*The CGYBA season runs from the week of December 14th through February 1st.
*Practices are scheduled twice a week (typically Tuesdays & Thursdays) at local elementary schools. Practices are between 1 to 1½ hours long.
*Two Saturdays of the league will consist of clinics and teaching by the Carlisle High School JV/Varsity Coaching Staff and players. No games will be played on these days. There will be a focus on fundamentals, understanding of the game and an emphasis of drills to be used in practice. CGYBA coaches will attend with players.
*Games are scheduled for the remaining Saturdays & will be held at Lamberton Middle School (Green Division) and Mooreland Elementary School (White Division). Games are usually one (1) hour long. Double-header games may be possible based on team schedules.
*During the season, the Carlisle High School Girls Basketball team will host youth appreciation nights during select home varsity games. CGYBA players will have the opportunity to support the team & be recognized.
*The White Division has an end-of-year skills challenge.
*The Green Division has an end-of-year double-elimination tournament.
6th Grade Travel Team Information:
*The travel team is only eligible to 6th graders.
*CGYBA 6th Grade (6G) Travel Team will either compete in the Big Spring or Mechanicsburg Travel Basketball League.
*The 6G Travel Team focuses on strong basketball development as well as sportsmanship, confidence building & positive youth development.
*If selected, players will be ineligible to play for the CGYBA White/Green Division for the 2024-2025 season.
*There is an additional fee for the travel team. The total fee is $130.
*Travel team players and coaches will be invited to attend the two Saturday clinics with the Green division.
