Carlisle at Mid-Penn Conference Championships
Monday, May 13
The Carlisle Track and Field teams travelled to Chambersburg to compete at Mid-Penns on Saturday. Leading the way for the boys were two sophomores Zach Brehm and Isa Pashall. Zach earned 3 bronze medals placing 3rd in the mile, the 800, and anchoring the 4x800 meter relay team, while Isa scored the only gold for the Thundering Herd taking the Triple Jump with a leap of over 45 feet beating 2nd place by nearly a full foot. Other boys taking home medals and All-Conference honors included Corbin Padgett, Jon Carroll, Mikey Dennison, Devin Cherry, Sean Collins, and Christian Pavlovich.
On the girls side McCall Ledgett was the girls' only gold medalist taking the 800 meter run after claiming 2nd place in the mile. Other girls winning medals and all-conference honors were Maddie Kole, Caitlyn Padgett, Maddie Shultes, Hailey West, Rose Roesler, Moe Newson, and Bryanna Youtzy.
Our District qualifiers head to District III Championships on Friday. The rest of the team should return uniforms and equipment today at the Track to Coach Boardman at 3pm following school.
Carlisle vs. Chambersburg
Wednesday, May 8
The Carlisle Track and Field teams hosted the Chambersburg Trojans yesterday in the final dual meet of the season. The Trojans were sent home with their biggest loss to any team in Boys Track & Field since 2005 as reported in the Chambersburg Public Opinion, 103-47. Of the 18 events Carlisle boys won 14 including all three relays. Isa Paschall was the lone double event winner at High Jump and Triple Jump. Other boys winning events included Sean Collins, Zach Brehm, James Fitzsimons, Christian Pavlovich, Chancellor Campbell, Kyle Yorlets, Jon Brown, Corbin Padgett, and Jon Carroll. With the final win over Chambersburg the Thundering Herd ends the regular season at 7-1 and with a share of the Commonwealth Division title for the first time since 1997!
The girls' team fell to the Lady Trojans 95-55 despite three wins from Rose Roesler. Other event winners for the Lady Herd were Shayla Dukes, Moe Newson, and Bryanna Youtzy. The Ladies finished the season with a 5-3 record and now move into Championship season beginning with Mid-Penns this coming Saturday.
Carlisle hosting Stan Morgan Invitational
Tuesday, May 7
The Carlisle Track and Field teams hosted the Stan Morgan Invitational on Saturday evening 15 teams attended and the Lady Herd came away with a very close second place scoring 103 points to claim runners-up to the team from Lower Dauphin with 117. Rose Roesler once again led the Lady Herd by winning 3 individual events, the 100 meter dash, the Triple Jump, and she even set a new meet record in the Long Jump, winning with a leap of 18 feet, 3 inches. In her fourth event she anchored the 4x400 meter relay team to a second place as they ran the fastest time any Carlisle Girls have run in at least 7 years! Other girls contributing with top-3 finishes and large team points contributions were Moe Newson, McCall Ledgett, Maddie Kole, and Caitlyn Padgett.
The boys team dominated the competition, especially on the track at all distances. The Thundering Herd tallied 144 points on the night, running away with the meet by 55 points over the next closest team. Sean Collins lead the Herd with his win in the 200 Meter Dash, a 2nd place in the 400 Meter Dash, and running strong legs of both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter winning relays. Other athletes contributing with big team points included Isa Paschall, Zach Brehm, Chancellor Campbell, Devin Cherry, Corbin Padgett, Jeremy Jones, Jon Carroll, and Christian Pavlovich.
Come out and support the Herd tonight against Chambersburg as the boys go for their first Commonwealth Division crown since 1997!
Carlisle vs. Harrisburg
Wednesday, May 1
The Carlisle Track and Field teams finally hosted a meet after having spent the rest of the entire month of April on the road. The Harrisburg Cougars came to town and were sent away with two big losses. The Thundering Herd Boys thumped the Cougars 115-35 and the Ladies overwhelmed their girls' team 125-25. Winning events for the Herd were Sean Collins, Isa Paschall, Christian Pavlovich, Chancellor Campbell, Kyle Yorlets, Mike Gould, Jon Brown, Jeremy Jones, Corbin Padgett, Jon Carroll, and Matt Wisner. The boys' team now is 6-1 on the season. A win against Chambersburg next Tuesday would clinch our first Commonwealth title in 15 years. Winning events for the Lady Herd were Rose Roesler, Shayla Dukes, McCall Ledgett, Maddie Kole, Leanza Lopez, Moe Newson, Ali Morrow, Kalia Stallings, Aaliyah Ravenel, Paige Patterson, and Kelly King. The Ladies now stand at 5-2 on the season.
Carlisle at Central Dauphin
Wednesday, April 24
The Carlisle Track and Field teams travelled to Central Dauphin last night. The Thundering Herd boys came out on top of several of the early battles and from there the Rams just looked to get the meet over with. By the end the score stood at 102-48. Leading the way for the boys were two sophomores who both won two events: Zach Brehm and Isa Paschall. Other event winners included Chancellor Campbell, Devin Cherry, Sean Collins, James Fitzsimons, Corbin Padgett, Kyle Yorlets and Jeremy Jones. The boys team now is 5-1 on the season and continues to sit atop the Mid-Penn Commonwealth in a 3-way tie with CV and Chambersburg.
The Lady Herd had several of its top girls out and still trounced the Lady Rams by a score of 112-38. The girls were led by double event winners McCall Ledgett and Paige Patterson. Other girls winning events were Moe Newson, Bryanna Youtzy, Caitlyn Padgett, Tori Stevenson, Kalia Stallings, Mary Smith, Emma Bateman, Shayla Dukes and Allison Duffy. The Ladies now stand at 4-2 on the season.
The track teams haven't had a home meet during the month of April and finally return home the next two Tuesdays to wrap up the dual meet season.
Carlisle at Shippensburg Invitational
Monday, April 22
The Track and Field teams sent their top athletes who qualified to the Shippensburg Invitational this past Saturday. This meet is like a "pre-states" meet as teams from all over Pennsylvania come to see the facilities where the State Championships will be held 5 weeks later.
The top boys' performer on the day was sophomore Zach Brehm, who placed 2nd in the mile run with a time of 4:21 and followed it up with another 2nd place performance in the 800. Other medalists for the boys included Devin Cherry who placed 3rd at Triple jump, Isa Paschall who was 7th at Triple Jump and Sean Collins who was 6th in the 400. Sean and Zach then teamed up with Bamasa Bailor and Jon Carroll to nab 8th place in the final 4x400m relay.
The Lady Herd was led once again by Rose Roesler. Rose started the day off by winning the 100 meter dash. She then placed 2nd in the 400 meter run, 3rd at Triple jump and 7th at long jump. The only other Carlisle girl to pick up team points was McCall Ledgett with her 8th place finish in the 800.
Both teams travel to Central Dauphin Tuesday afternoon.
Carlisle at State College
Wednesday, April 17
The Carlisle Track and Field teams travelled to State College last night. The boys put away the Little Lions by a score of 81.5-68.5. Leading the way for the boys were double event winners Sean Collins and Isa Paschall. Other event winners included Christian Pavlovich, Chancellor Campbell, Zach Brehm and Kyle Yorlets. The boys team now is 4-1 on the season and sits atop the Mid-Penn Commonwealth in a 3-way tie with CV and Chambersburg.
The Lady Herd were led by Rose Roesler who won 3 events and anchored the winning 4x400m relay, but State College's depth overwhelmed the Lady Herd, 107-43. Other girls scoring multiple team points were McCall Ledgett, Paige Patterson, Moe Newson, Bryanna Youtzy and Caitlyn Padgett. The Ladies stand at 3-2 on the season.
Carlisle at Black Knight Invitational
Monday, April 15
The Carlisle Track and Field teams travelled to the Black Knight Invitational in Hempfield on Saturday. Leading the way for the boys was sophomore Zach Brehm who won the mile and doubled back with a meet record and second win in the 800 meter run. Other boys placing top-8 and scoring team points included Christian Pavlovich, Jeremy Jones, Bamasa Bailor, Isa Paschall, Corbin Padgett, Sean Collins and Devin Cherry. All 3 relays also placed top 5.
The Lady Herd were led by McCall Ledgett and Rose Roesler who both scored 2 top-3 finishes and teamed up on the 4x400 meter relay for another top-5 finish. Other girls scoring team points included Shayla Dukes, Autumn Salvetti, Moe Newson,Paige Patterson, Rachel Lange, Bryanna Youtzy, and Kristen John. All three relays also placed top-5.
Carlisle at Cumberland Valley
Wednesday, April 10
The Carlisle Track and Field teams travelled to Cumberland Valley to battle the Eagles yesterday. On the boys side the meet was neck and neck right down to the last few events but CV pulled away with an 81-69 victory. In track and field terms this was a nailbiter. Literally less than half a second could have been the difference in the meet. Leading the way in the field for the Herd winning all three jumping events was sophomore Isa Paschall. On the track Devin Cherry won both hurdles races for Carlisle. Other event winners for the Herd were Kyle Yorlets at Discus, Christian Pavlovich at Javelin, and Zach Brehm in the mile.
The Lady Herd suffered their first dual meet loss in over two years despite a monumental performance by Rose Roesler by a score of 92-58. Rose set a new school record in the Long Jump going 18 feet 5 inches. She also won the triple jump in her first ever attempt at the event! One the track she ran away with 2 more wins in the 200 and 400 meter races. Bryanna Youtzy at Javelin and Shayla Dukes in the 100 were the other event winners for the Lady Herd. Other girls chipping in multiple team points were Caitlyn Padgett, Bre Clippinger, Moe Newson, Allie Morrow, and Paige Patterson.
Both Boys and Girls teams now both stand at 3-1 on the season and will travel to State College to take on their undefeated teams next week.
Carlisle at CD East
Wednesday, April 3
The Carlisle Track and Field teams travelled to Landis Field to take on the CD East Panthers yesterday. On the boys side the Herd put away the Panthers winning 87-63. Winning individual events for the Herd were Jon Carroll, Mikey Dennison, Matt Wisner,Kyle Yorlets, Sean Collins, and Christian Pavlovich.
The Lady Herd defeated the defending District III Champions 98-52. Leading the way to the win on the girls' side were double event winners Paige Patterson, Rose Roesler, and McCall Ledgett. Other individual event winners included Autumn Salvetti, Tori Stevenson, and Bryanna Youtzy.
Both Boys and Girls teams now stand at 3-0.
Carlisle vs. West Perry
Monday, April 1
The Carlisle Track and Field teams hosted the West Perry Mustangs last Thursday. On the boys side the Herd crushed the Mustangs 124-26. Carlisle athletes won 17 of the 18 events. Leading the way for the Herd were event winners: Devin Cherry, Jon Carroll, Zach Brehm, Kyle Yorlets, Sean Collins, Chancellor Campbell, Isa Paschall, Tramel Chandler, Jon Brown, Jordan Dockens, and Jeremy Jones.
Things turned out similarly on the girls' side as The Lady Herd beat West Perry by a score of 130-20, while also only giving up a single event win to the Lady Mustangs. Leading the way for the girls were event winners: Rose Roesler, Paige Patterson, Charlotte Hammer, Shayla Dukes, McCall Ledgett, Emma bateman, Caitlyn Padgett, Moe Newson, Tori Stevenson and, Bryanna Youtzy.
Carlisle vs. Mifflin County
Wednesday, March 27
The Carlisle Track and Field teams opened up the dual meet season by hosting the Mifflin County Huskies yesterday. On the boys side the Herd pulled away from a strong team winning 82-68. The Huskies fought hard in their first meet as a member of the Mid-Penn Commonwealth and kept the meet close, but Carlisle's depth overpowered them. Leading the way on the Track for the Herd were Corbin Padgett and Zach Brehm who each won individual events and teamed up on a relay win. Jon Brown won both the High Jump and the Triple jump leading the way in the field. Other Herd teammates who scored multiple team points included Devin Cherry, Noah Chirico, Kyle Yorlets, James Fitzsimons, Sean Collins, Hunter Barbour, Chancellor Campbell, Isa Paschall, Ayrton Mariott, Christian Pavlovich, and Bamassa Bailor.
The Lady Herd crushed Mifflin County by a score of 99-50. Leading the way to the win on the track was Rose Roesler who won the 100, 200 and anchored the winning 4x100 meter relay. In the field the ladies were lead by Paige Patterson who dominated the jumps winning all 3: Long Jump, Triple Jump and High Jump! Other key performers collecting multiple team points were Isabel Blumenthal, McCall Ledgett, Shayla Dukes, Maddie Shultes, Bre Clippinger, Mary Smith, Bryanna Youtzy, Celeste McMullan, Amelia Winn, Kelly King, Moe Newson, Caitlyn Padgett, and Leanza Lopez.
