Carlisle at District III Championships
Monday, May 19
Please congratulate the Thundering Herd Boys' Track and Field Team on bringing home a DISTRICT III Championship to Carlisle this past weekend! Zach Brehm led the team by grabbing 4 medals, 3 of them gold in the mile, the 800, and teaming up with Matt Wisner, Jon Carroll and Joe DeAngelo to win the 4x800 meter relay. Isa Paschall won the triple jump and added a medal at Long jump with a 4th place finish. Deshawn Millington placed 2nd at Triple jump to add 8 more points to the Herd's tally. The 4x100 meter relay team of Paschall, Sean Collins, Bamasa Bailor, and Prince Gaye claimed silver medals as well. Jon Brown scored 3 points at Triple jump following his teammates and Christian Pavlovich topped off the team scoring with 5 more points at Javelin. This is only the 2nd District title for Carlisle's Boys' Track and Field team in school history, the last one being in 1970!
The Lady Herd performed well above expectations and will be sending several athletes to States as well. Caitlyn Padgett grabbed a medal in the 2 mile run going 11:17. Maddie Kole placed 4th in the 800, and the girls' 4x100 meter relay team of Bre Clippinger, Shayla Dukes, Allie Duffy, and Najae Nickerson placed 6th and just hit the State Qualifying standard on the nose! Most exciting about the girls team is that the point scorers are all underclassmen which bodes well for the coming years!
Carlisle at Mid-Penn Conference Championships
Monday, May 12
The Carlisle Track and Field teams travelled to Chambersburg to compete at Mid-Penns on Saturday. Leading the way for the boys were once again our trio of underclassmen. Isa Paschall collected All-conference honors with runners-up performances as part of our 4x100 Meter relay and in both the long jump and triple jump. He picked up a 6th place as well in the 100. Zach Brehm won the 800 and took 2nd in the mile while also anchoring both the 4x8 and 4x4 relays to top-5 positions. Deshawn Millington added several medals of his own including a new stadium record as he won the triple jump besting his teammate's mark from earlier in the same week! Christian Pavlovich took gold at javelin and Sean Collins picked up a bronze in the 300 hurdles. The Herd totaled over 94 points overcoming State College with 89. Third place was a distant 68 from Lower Dauphin.
On the girls side individuals medalling included Shayla Dukes in the 200, Maddie Kole in the 800, and Sarah Bourdon in the Pole Vault. Both 4x100 and 4x800 relay teams also took top-5 places.
Carlisle at Chambersburg
Wednesday, May 7
The Carlisle Track and Field teams headed to Chambersburg to take on the Trojans yesterday in the final dual meet of the season. Both boys' and girls' teams had identical Commonwealth records going into the day. The Trojans made use of the home field advantage, but it took them right down to the final event. The Lady Herd came up on the short end of a 78-72 meet, essentially a coin-flip in the sport of Track and Field. Our girls had some outstanding performances along the way though and most notably every single point we scored yesterday was by an underclassman! Girls event winners were Najae Nickerson, Shayla Dukes, Maddie Kole, Leah Colestock, Caitlyn Padgett, Bry Youtzy, and Jilian Ingram. The girls end the dual meet season at 5-3.
The boys had a different fate and completely overwhelmed the Trojans across the board. The Herd won all three relays as well as picking up wins in individual events from Joe DeAngelo, Sean Collins, Jon Carroll, Matt Wisner, Isa Paschall, Jon Brown, and Jeremy Jones. The most notable performance on the day, although not even a PR was Isa Paschall's triple mark of 47 feet 2 and 3 quarter inches which broke Chambersburg's longest standing stadium record set back in 1971 which had stood for over 40 years! The final score was 88-62 and the boys end the season at 8-1. Both teams now ready themselves for championship season beginning with Mid-Penns on Saturday.
Carlisle hosting Stan Morgan Invitational
Tuesday, May 6
Please congratulate the Boys' Track and Field team on their 4th consecutive Stan Morgan Championship over the weekend. The Thundering Herd took the team title with 131 points over the 20 teams in attendance. 2nd place was Gettysburg with 56 and Mechanicsburg in 3rd with 55. The Herd was led by a trio of underclassmen: Isa Paschall, Deshawn Millington, and Zach Brehm. Zach won both the mile and the two mile, but at jumps Isa and Deshawn went 1-2 in both the Long jump and Triple jump. They are now the top 2 performers in the state at triple jump with leaps over 49 feet! Isa is the top Junior in the United States as of today and Deshawn is the top freshman triple jumper in the Nation!
The Lady Herd placed 3rd falling behind only Cumberland Valley and Boiling Springs. The girls' only event winner was Sarah Bourdon, but we got several top 3 finishes from: Shayla Dukes in the 100, Maddie Kole in the 800, and Caitlyn Padgett in the mile.

Carlisle at Shippensburg Invitational
Monday, April 21
The Track and Field teams sent their top athletes who qualified to the Shippensburg Invitational this past Saturday.
The top boys' performer on the day was Isa Paschall who won the long jump, picked up a 2nd at High jump, and collected a third place finish at Triple Jump. Zach Brehm, also collected two top-3 finishes in the mile and 800meter run. Deshawn Millington also scored a top-5 place with his 4th place medal at triple jump right behind Paschall.
The Lady Herd was led by freshman Julia Ledgett who won the Steeplechase event. Her teammate Emily Skovira followed not far behind and the Lady Herd only scored team individual points at one other event with Sarah Bourdon at Pole Vault with a 7th place finish. The Carlisle teams host Central Dauphin Tuesday afternoon for their final home dual meet.
Carlisle vs. State College
Friday, April 18
The teams hosted State College yesterday to make-up the meet that got postponed on Tuesday. State College rolled in to town on 4 loaded buses and came away with two big wins. The Lady Herd fell by a score of 103.3-47.5. The bright spots for the Herd were underclassmen winning 6 events. Maddie Kole took both the 800 and the 2 mile. Kristen John took the Javelin, Caitlyn Padgett the mile, Cassidy Hoover the high jump and Sarah Bourdon the Pole Vault.
The boys put up a good fight against arguably the best dual meet team in the State and fell in their quest to repeat as Commomwealth champions by a score of 94.5-55.5. Incredible performances from Zach Brehm, Isa Paschall, and Deshawn Millington were not enough to overcome the depth and numbers on the side of the Little Lions. Both our 4x100 relay and Sean Collins at the 300 hurdles were within a second of All-time school records and still were defeated. Great team from State College, our focus now turns to Championship season and an elusive District III title in 4 weeks.
Carlisle at Black Knight Invitational
Monday, April 14
Please congratulate the Boys' Track and Field team on their runners-up performance at the Black Knight Invitational at Hempfield over the weekend. The Thundering Herd rested several key athletes in preparation for tomorrow's meet against State College that will decide the Commonwealth title. Despite that the Boys nearly overcame a solid team from Coatesville for the team win. Leading the way for the boys was Zach Brehm who won both the mile and 800 meter runs. Isa Paschall took the day off from jumping and instead won the 100 meter dash and ran on both 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams that both placed top-3. Wish the boys luck tomorrow as they battle State College.
The Lady Herd placed a surprising 5th at the Invitational by getting lots of good performances from underclassmen. Although the girls scored no individual wins, top-3 performances were turned in by Sarah Bourdon, Shayla Dukes, Maddie Kole, and Caitlyn Padgett. Nice job girls!

Carlisle vs. Cumberland Valley
Wednesday, April 9
The Carlisle Track and Field teams hosted Cumberland Valley and came away with two lop-sided results.
The Lady Herd was routed by the Lady Eagles who are one of the District III favorites to win this year. Only 3 of our girls won individual events: Shayla Dukes in the 100, Caitlyn Padgett in the 2-mile, and Sarah Bourdon at Pole Vault. The final score was 109-41 and the Ladies now stand at 2-1 overall on the season.
The Thundering Herd boys returned the favor by crushing the Eagles 99-51. Leading the way were event winners Jon Carroll, Joe DeAngelo, Zach Brehm, Isa Paschall, Deshawn Millington, Noah Chirico, and Christian Pavlovich. Millington's leap of 44-6 at Triple Jump, although behind Paschall, is currently the 5th best mark by a freshman in the U.S. thus far this year. The Boys are now 4-0 overall on the season and host Mifflin County tomorrow after school.

Carlisle at PTFCA PA Track Classic
Monday, March 31
On Saturday, March 29th top Carlisle Track and Field athletes headed toward Philadelphia to take on some top-notch teams from District 1. The meet was not scored as a team, but athletes went to see where we stand on the State stage right now. The indoor state team champions from Cheltenham were a barometer to see where we are right now. The weather didn't cooperate and cold wind and rain was a disappointment for times and distances, but the purpose of the trip was still served. Top performances included Isa Paschall winning the Triple Jump and the boy's 4x800 relay going 8:06 with a top team from Malvern Prep. Other athletes earning top-3 placings were Christian Pavlovich at Javelin, Jon Carroll in the 800, Maddie Kole in the 800, and Caitlyn Padgett in the 3200.
