All schools in Pennsylvania are required by law to administer a reading and a mathematics assessment test in grades 3 through 8 and a science assessment in grades 4 and 8. The district is also required to administer the Keystone Exam after students have completed Algebra I, English II and Biology I. Contact your child's building(s) regarding specific dates and times.
Online Testing: CASD is actively preparing for the required shift to testing fully online beginning in 2026. This year, the following examinations will be conducted online:
- All Keystone exams
- PSSA Grade 5 Science exam
- PSSA Grade 8 Science exam
Previewing the Examination: Parents who wish to preview the test should make arrangements in advance by contacting the appropriate building principal. This is typically done if the parent anticipates an objection to the test based on religious beliefs.
