CHS's EMT Program and Carlisle Fire Department

CHS's EMT Program and Carlisle Fire Department
The EMT Program began offering a 16-week fall program through the Carlisle Fire Department for students to experience career opportunities in fire suppression, rescue operations, hazardous materials response, codes enforcement and planning, police operations and self-defense, and the incident command and management system.

At the completion of this training, students will be eligible to take examinations which lead to certifications through the PA State Fire Academy and HACC. Additionally, this is our third year offering our spring 16-week course for the EMT Certification, which is supported through a partnership with Cumberland Goodwill EMS and HACC.

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to provide basic pre-hospital emergency care for sick and injured patients. Students will be eligible to obtain their EMT certification by completing the PA Department of Health/National Registry of EMT’s Psychomotor Cognitive exams.
