Carlisle at the District 3 Championships
Saturday May 18
History was made in Shippensburg over the weekend for Carlisle Track & Field! The Herd boys claimed the District 3 Class 3A Championship title! This is their 5th district title since 2014, the first under Coach Rodkey, and their title in 2014 was the first team title for the boys since 1970. Leading the way for the Herd was the winning 4x800m relay team of Josh Blanton, Darian Crim, Kolbin Heberlig, and James Millare with a time of 7:47.10. The boys 4x100m relay of Darian Crim, Parker Smith, Javani Mosley, and Mason Pretopapa took second securing 8 points. Darian Crim and Parker Smith placed 4th and 6th in the 400 with Darian setting a new school record of 49.05. James Millare finished 4th in the 1600 and 6th in the 800, and Kolbin Heberlig finished 6th in the 3200. In the field Parker Smith and Xavier Campbell took 4th and 5th in triple jump, and Mason Pretopapa claimed a silver medal in javelin. The Herd finished the day setting a new school record of 3:21.71 winning the 4x4 with the team of Darian Crim, Javani Mosley, James Millare, and Parker Smith. All three relay teams and several individuals have qualified for the state championships this weekend. Congratulations on your district title boys!
The Lady Herd had some great performances at the district championships this weekend. Emily Leatherman and Ana Bondy took 3rd and 5th in the 800 qualifying for the state championships. Ana also took 5th and 6th in the 1600 and 3200. In the field, Emily Sheffe took 6th in shot put. And the girls 4x800m relay team claimed a silver medal with the team of Sophia Julias, Emily Leatherman, Elisabeth Bordner, and Ana Bondy running 9:22.35. Good work ladies!

Carlisle at the Mid-Penn Championships
Saturday May 11
Congratulations to the Boys Track & Field team! The Herd boys scored 81.5 points on Saturday to claim The Mid-Penn Conference Championship for the first time since 2017! Leading the way for the Herd was the winning 4x800m relay team of Darian Crim, Josh Blanton, James Millare, and Kolbin Heberlig.
The Lady Herd finished 5th overall at Mid-Penns. Leading the way for the Herd was the winning 4x800m relay team of Sophia Julias, Emily Leatherman, Elisabeth Bordner, and Ana Bondy.
The Herd is sending several qualifiers to compete at the District 3 Championship meet on Friday and Saturday at Shippensburg University.
Carlisle at Central Dauphin East vs. Steelton Highspire
Tuesday May 7
Carlisle Track & Field traveled to CD East on Tuesday. The Herd boys swept CD East and Steelton Highspire across the board, putting over 100 points on both teams. The Herd finishes the dual meet season 9-0 and claims the Mid Penn Commonwealth Division title for the first time since 2017. Congratulations boys!
The Lady Herd also claimed two victories at CD East. Leading the way was Sofie Voldstad winning the long and triple jump. Sweeping both CD East and Steelton Highspire in several events, the Lady Herd completes the dual meet season 5-4. Good work ladies.
The Herd travels to the Mid Penn Conference Championship Meet on Saturday.
Carlisle at Central Dauphin vs. Mifflin County
Tuesday April 30
Carlisle Track & Field took on Mifflin County and Central Dauphin on Tuesday.
The Herd Boys defeated Mifflin County 101 to 49 and Central Dauphin 125 to 25. Leading the way for the Herd was the winning 4x1 of Darian Crim, Parker Smith, Javoni Mosley, and Paulie Pretopapa, just .22 seconds away from the school record with a new time of 42.71. They remain ranked 3rd in District 3 behind two teams they have already beaten head-to-head this season. Other event winners included Kolbin Heberlig, Xavier Campbell, Parker Smith, and Devin Vasquez. The Herd boys remain undefeated on the dual meet season with only CD East left to face head-to-head next week.
The Lady Herd also defeated both Mifflin County and Central Dauphin, winning 116 to 30 and 105 to 36, respectively. Leading the way for the Lady Herd was Sophia Julias in the 100 and 400, and Alexis Wolf winning the 300m hurdles. Other event winners included Ana Bondy, Emily Leatherman, Elisabeth Bordner, Rachel Plant, Alyssa Jerosky, Anna Schadler, and Emily Sheffe. The Lady Herd moves to 3-4 on the season.
The Herd will host the 35th Annual Stan Morgan Invitational at Carlisle on Saturday.
Carlisle at the Cedar Cliff Relays
Saturday April 27
Carlisle Track & Field travelled to the Cedar Cliff Relays over the weekend. The Herd claimed the girls team champion trophy and the combined boys and girls team trophy for the second year in a row. Most notably the Herd boys DMR team placed first and qualified for New Balance Nationals this summer with their time of 10:22.61. Congratulations boys!
Carlisle at The Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA
Friday April 26
On Friday members of the girls track & field team travelled to the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia. The team of Emily Leatherman, Sophia Julias, Elizabeth Bordner, and Ana Bondy set a new outdoor school record finishing 10th overall in the meet. Their time of 12:15.40 was also the second fastest time in District 3 history. Congratulations ladies!
Carlisle vs. Cumberland Valley
Tuesday April 23
Carlisle Track & Field played host to Cumberland Valley on Tuesday.
In their last home dual meet of the season, the Herd boys crushed the eagles 98 to 52. They swept all three relays, and claimed 1st and 2nd places in nearly all field events. Multiple event winners included James Millare and Xavier Campbell, with key points in the field from Drew Hopper and Nathan Carothers. The Herd boys remain undefeated this season.
The Lady Herd fell to the eagles 56 to 94. Leading the way for the Herd was Emily Sheffe, placing first in discus and in shot put with a new PR of 37’ 9.5”.
The Herd travels to the Cedar Cliff Relays on Saturday.
Jack Roddick Invitational at Shippensburg University
Saturday April 20
Carlisle Track & Field traveled to the Jack Roddick Invitational at Shippensburg University over the weekend.
The Herd boys placed second overall scoring 40 total points. Leading the way for the Herd was James Millare taking 2nd in the 1600, Darian Crim taking 3rd in the 400, and Grant Best taking 3rd in the steeplechase.
The Lady Herd was led by Emily Leatherman taking first in the steeplechase with her time of 7:17.98.
The Herd plays host to Cumberland Valley for senior and teacher appreciation night on Tuesday.
Carlisle vs. Altoona
Tuesday April 16
Carlisle Track & Field played host to Altoona on Tuesday.
The Herd boys destroyed the mountain lions winning 100 to 50. Multiple event winners included Kolbin Heberlig in the 1600 and 3200, and Parker Smith in the 200 and triple jump. The Herd won all three relays and saw several PR’s throughout the meet.
The Lady Herd fell to Altoona 123 to 26. Leading the way for the Lady Herd was Sophia Julias winning the 100 and 400.
The Herd travels to the Roddick Invitational at Shippensburg University on Saturday.
Carlisle vs.Chambersburg
Tuesday April 9
Carlisle Track & Field played host to Chambersburg on Tuesday.
In another close meet that came down to the 4x400m relay, the Herd boys earned a true team victory defeating the defending state champion Trojans 77.5 to 72.5! This paves the way for the Herd to claim an outright Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division Title this season. Leading the way for the Herd was James Millare with victories in the 1600m run and the 800m run. Event winners also included Darian Crim in the 400m run and Mason Pretopapa in Javelin. The Herd won all three relays and also picked up several key points in second place from Mason Pretopapa, Parker Smith, Javani Mosley, Kolbin Heberlig, Nathan Carothers, Xavier Campbell, and Devin Vasquez.
On the girls side, the Lady Herd fell short to the Trojans 96 to 54. Multiple event winners included Sophia Julias in the 100m run and the 400m run, and Emily Leatherman in the 1600m run and the 800m run.
The Herd travels to Central Dauphin East on Thursday.

Carlisle's Parker Smith jumps in, finds early success in first track and field season
Bruce Dallas Invitational (at Cumberland Valley HS)
Saturday April 6
Carlisle Track and Field traveled to the Bruce Dallas Invitational at Cumberland Valley over the weekend.
For the first time in Carlisle Track & Field history, the Herd boys were declared the Bruce Dallas Invitational Boys Team Champion scoring 75 points. The Herd claimed first place with James Millare, Ben Kerr, Josh Blanton, and Kolbin Heberlig in the distance medley relay; Peyton Mitchell, Darian Crim, Parker Smith, and Mason Pretopapa in the 4x100 meter relay; and Parker Smith, James Millare, Kolbin Heberlig, and Darian Crim in the 4x400 meter relay. Darian Crim also claimed first place in the 400 meter run with his time of 49.59. Good work boys!
The Lady Herd scored 22 points in the meet. Leading the way were Elizabeth Bordner, Savannah Oakes, Emily Leatherman, and Ana Bondy placing first in the 4x800 meter relay. Emily Leatherman also placed second in the 800 meter run with her time of 2:17.70.In another first, Carlisle was declared the Bruce Dallas Invitational Combined Team Champion scoring 97 points to surpass Cumberland Valley by 3 points! The Herd plays host to Chambersburg on Tuesday.

Carlisle vs. Harrisburg
Thursday April 4
Carlisle Track & Field played host to Harrisburg on Thursday.
The Herd claimed victory over Harrisburg on both sides. On the boys’ side, the Herd swept Harrisburg in many events winning 122 to 27. Multiple event winners included Mason Pretopapa in the 100, 200, and Javelin; James Millare in the 1600 and 800; and Parker Smith in both long and triple jump. The Herd boys swept Harrisburg in several events and all three relays.
The Lady Herd claimed a 99 to 42 victory over Harrisburg. Multiple event winners included Emily Leatherman in the 400 and 800 and Sofie Voldstad in both long and high jump. The Lady Herd swept Harrisburg in many events and all three relays.
The Herd travels to the Bruce Dallas Invitational at Cumberland Valley on Saturday and will play host to Chambersburg on Tuesday.
Carlisle vs. State College
Tuesday March 27
Carlisle Track and Field opened the dual meet season against State College on Tuesday.
For the first time since 2021, Carlisle boys claimed victory over a State College track & field team. It came down to the last event of the meet, the 4x400 meter relay, where Parker Smith, James Millare, Josh Blanton, and Darian Crim stepped up to secure the victory 76 to 74. Carlisle swept the little lions in all three relays, the 1600 meter run, and the long jump. Leading the way for the Herd in the field was Xavier Campbell claiming first in long jump and high jump, and Parker Smith placing first in triple jump. Other event winners on the track were Kolbin Heberlig, Darian Crim, Josh Blanton, and Grant Best. Good work boys!
The Lady Herd fell short 99 to 51. Leading the way for the Lady Herd was Emily Leatherman placing first in both the 400 meter run and the 800 meter run, Ana Bondy winning the 3200 meter run, and Emily Sheffe winning the shot put.
The Herd travels to Harrisburg next Tuesday.
Tim Cook Invitational (at Chambersburg HS)
Saturday March 23
Carlisle Track & Field travelled to Chambersburg over the weekend for the Tim Cook Invitational. First place finishers included Darian Crim in the 400m run and Josh Blanton in the 800m run. The Herd hosts their first dual meet of the season against State College this Tuesday.
