Creating World Languages Special Characters
Scroll to bottom for directions on how to turn off Auto Correct options (such as for when Word automatically changes text as you type).

Option 1 - Preferred Method
Add a new Keyboard.
Go to Settings
Select Region & language
Click Add a language
Type the name of the language
Select the region
Now you will see ENG in the taskbar and can click it to switch input language.
(Don't forget to switch back for your other classes.)

Option 2 - Almost Like Texting
Use the touch keyboard button in your laptop's taskbar.
Right click in a blank area on your taskbar
Select Taskbar Settings
Select to show touch keyboard icon Always
Click and hold a letter to see the special character options available.

Word AutoCorrect Options
When typing in a language that is not English, it is useful to turn off the automatic Spelling and Grammar features, and certain AutoCorrect Options.
To turn off Spelling and Grammar
(so Word doesn’t underline “misspelled” words)
Click on Tools
Click on Options
Click “Spelling and Grammar” tab
Click on the options you’d like to turn off
- check spelling as you type
- check grammar as you type
Click on OK
To turn off AutoCorrect Options
(so Word doesn’t automatically change words)
Click on Tools
(Click on the double arrows at the bottom of the list to see all the options)
Click on AutoCorrect Options
(If you don’t see this option, click on the double arrows at the bottom of the list to see all the options)
Click on the options you’d like to turn off
- capitalize the name of days
- replace text as you type
Click on OK
