Scholastic Art & Writing Awards



CASD Scholastic Winners 2024


CASD submitted 72 writing entries from grades 8-12 to the 2024 South Central Pennsylvania Scholastic Art and Writing contest.  Students could submit pieces in the following categories: Science Fiction/Fantasy, Humor, Short Story, Poetry, Flash Fiction, Personal Essay/Memoir, Critical Essay, Dramatic Script, Journalism, and Writing Portfolio. Altogether, CASD students received a total of 47 Awards in Writing: 7 Gold Keys, 16 Silver Keys, and 24 Honorable Mentions. Additionally, THREE students from CASD also received “American Voices” nominations as their work moves on to adjudication at the national level: Lauren Kiehl (grade 11), Christabelle Kirkham (grade 9), and Bailey Clayville (grade 8). 

Congratulations to the CHS students listed below, whose work received recognition in this year’s contest! 

CASD submitted 36 art entries from grades 9-12 to the 2024 South Central Pennsylvania Scholastic Art and Writing contest.  Students could submit pieces in the following categories: Painting, Drawing & Illustration, Ceramics & Glass, Digital, Art, Comic Art, Mixed Media, Photography, Sculpture, & Art Portfolio. Altogether, CASD students received 19 Awards in Art: 2 Gold Keys, 5 Silver Keys, and 12 Honorable Mention Awards.

Students who won Gold Keys will have their entries advanced to the national level, and those results will be released in late May.
