School Bus     MY FIRST SCHOOL BUS RIDE
Orientation Program for 2017-2018 Kindergarten Students
Monday, August 7, 2017
Swartz Auditorium, 623 West Penn St.
9:30 am -11:00 am

This program will offer you and your child an opportunity to learn about SCHOOL BUS SAFETY together.  The program will include instructions for getting on and off the bus, the safety zone around the bus, and the proper behavior when riding.  An outline of the program is noted below:

9:30   WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS, Colleen Friend, Acting Assistant Superintendent

9:40   Film:  POOH’S GREAT SCHOOL BUS ADVENTURE

10:00    Review of Transportation Policies and School Bus Rules

10:30    School Bus Ride*

 * Students receive guidance as to how to get on and off the school bus, and instructions about the school bus safety zone.  Parents and siblings 2 years and older are invited to ride along with the new students on the school bus ride.  The ride will take approximately 20 minutes.   Unfortunately, for safety reasons we cannot allow children under 2 years old to ride the bus.  It is our hope that this program will help to eliminate some of the fears kindergarten children experience on their first day of school, and riding the school bus.  Please plan to attend this important program with your child.
