Students in Mr. Hvizdos’s WMS 8th Grade Manufacturing and Design class must form a company, elect officers, research various business ventures, select one, and develop it into a small company. After much debate, students in his Encore 1 class decided to design and print limited edition hoodies with a custom ribbon design. As a group, they also voted to donate $2 from the sale of each hoodie to local charities, one of them being Project SHARE of Carlisle PA.
With the help of Mrs. Spears, the Business Education teacher, students tracked costs, inventory, sales, and profits from their venture. Students invited Dr. Friend, Superintendent of Carlisle Area School District, to their classroom and presented her with a sweatshirt.
Members of the 2023 Herd Hoods Company are proud to present a check for $115 to Project Share. If you see a pink, green, or black hoodie with a ribbon design, please thank the person wearing it for supporting local charities.
