Carlisle Cross Country hosted Cumberland Valley and Mifflin County for the Commonwealth Division titles on both sides.  The girls fell to CV by a score of 20-41 and also to Mifflin by a much closer 26-29 score.  The race winner was Ana Bondy, but then the bigger schools' numbers took their toll.  Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Herd were Jayde Thomas, Maeve Evans, Aubrey Mackey and Maggie Reidy.

On the boys' side the Herd easily bested Mifflin by a 19-42 score, but the Eagles came in ranked 10th in the State and showed why they deserved the State ranking. All streaks must end and a couple big ones did yesterday.  Cumberland Valley hadn't beaten Carlisle in an XC dual since 2012.  Also, our boys' streak of dual meet wins dating back to 2015 was snapped.  And most notably, there will not be a 7th consecutive Commonwealth Division title this year.  Our boys ran well, just not enough in the 25-32 loss.  Kevin Shank and Andrew Diehl went 1-2, then Ryan Brody and Colby Williams were the seniors affecting the team score.

The girls end the dual meet season at 3-3, the boys at 5-1.

Carlisle Cross-Country was on the road at Chambersburg Tuesday.  The Trojans put up a great fight, but we came out on top again 24-31.  In the process the Herd also took down CD East by a score of 15-50.   Leading the way for the Herd was Kevin Shank and Andrew Diehl who ran the #2 and #10 fastest times ever on the Chambersburg home course.  The course has not been changed for over 30 years!  Ryan Brody, Colby Williams, and Kolbin Heberlig rounded up the team scoring.  The boys team is now 4-0 on the season.

On the girls side we earned a split.  The Lady Herd took out CD East 15-50, but fell to Chambersburg 19-42.  Ana Bondy led the way with a 2nd place finish in the meet.  Rounding out the top 5 were Maeve Evans, Jayde Thomas, Aubrey Mackey, and Lilly Kaden.  The girls are now 3-1 on the season.

Carlisle Cross-Country hosted teams from State College on Tuesday evening and picked up two big wins.

On the girls' side, State opted to rest a good number of their top runners and we made them pay for it, winning 21-35.  Ana Bondy won the race and was followed by Jayde Thomas's 2nd place finish.  The rest of the girls affecting the team score were Maeve Evans, Inga Parfeni, Aubrey Mackey, and Lauren Vertuli.

On the boys' side the Herd sunk the Little Lions on the strength of our #3 and #4 runners, Ryan Brody and Colby Williams.  Andrew Diehl and Kevin Shank crossed the line 1-2, then the meet happened behind them.  Ryan and Colby each passed State College runners on the finishing stretch to secure the win 27-30.

Both Boys and Girls teams are 2-0 on the season

Carlisle Cross-Country teams competed at the District 3 Championships this weekend and came through with some great individual performances.

The Girls were fortunate to qualify for the meet this year and were led by an outstanding effort from Vanessa Alder who placed 3rd overall and has advanced individually to the State Championship meet next weekend.

The boys ran a solid race, but missed qualifying for States by the narrowest of margins, less than 3 seconds separated the 5th place Herd from the 4th place team.  This was the 9th year in a row the Boys XC team has placed top-5 at Districts! Ray Bondy led the way with a 2nd place overall finish and will advance next week to States.  Kevin Shank, Briar Thompson, Andrew Diehl, and Colby Williams rounded out the team scoring.

Congrats and good luck to Ray and Vanessa at States!

The boys continued their fantastic season and had no issues qualifying for Districts as a team.  Leading the way for the Herd were our duo of Ray Bondy and Kevin Shank who placed 2nd and 3rd overall.  Briar Thompson also earned All-Conference honors.  Rounding out the team scoring were Andrew Diehl and Colby Williams.  Way to go Herd!

On Tuesday, the Carlisle Cross-Country teams traveled to Cumberland Valley to face both the Eagles and the Mifflin County Huskies.

On the girls side it was a split decision.  The Lady Herd defeated Mifflin County 26-30, but fell to CV by a 16-47 score.  This ended the Girls' 5 year streak of dual meet wins over Cumberland Valley.  The last time CV beat Carlisle girls in a League dual meet was in 2015.  Leading the way for our girls were Hannah Hanger, Jayde Thomas, Olivia Doty, Eva Leatherman, and Aubrey Mackey.  The girls are now 3-2 on the season.

The Boys handled both teams without any issues.  It was Carlisle over Mifflin County by a 18-39 score, and Carlisle over Cumberland Valley by a score of 20-36.  Leading the way for the Herd were Ray Bondy, Kevin Shank, Andrew Diehl, Briar Thompson, Ryan Brody and Colby Williams.  The Herd are now the only undefeated team left in the Commonwealth and have secured at least a share of the division crown.  This marks the SIXTH consecutive Division Title for the Carlisle Boys Cross-Country team!

Carlisle Cross-Country runners were in action over the weekend at the District 3 Championships.  On the girls side only 3 of our Mid-Penn All-Conference runners were permitted to run due to this year of restrictions, but all three ran into the top 50.  Congrats to Gretal Shank, Karlie Powell, and Sophie Salomone on the best season we could have in 2020!  The girls ended the dual meet season at 4-2 and with a team that had they been permitted to compete, would have placed 6th or 7th at Districts.

Our Boys team placed 4th and any other year would be heading off to States this upcoming weekend, but District Champions are the only team qualifiers to States this year.  The Commonwealth Division title will have to suffice for this year!  Our boys' scorers who would have gotten this team to states any other year were Evan Peachey, Kevin Shank, Andrew Diehl, Briar Thompson, and Conner Morrow.  The boys ended the season with an undefeated dual meet record, for the 5th year in a row, and knowing they deserve to be at the State meet.  Great season boys!

Please congratulate members of both the Boys' and Girls Cross-Country teams members on their performances at Mid-Penn's this past weekend!
In this odd year in which only a handful of runners are permitted to advance to Districts and States, Carlisle XC is moving many on to Districts!

On the girls side, we had 4 of the best 30 runners in the entire Mid-Penn Conference: Gretal Shank, Sophie Salomone, Karlie Powell, and Alyssa Dyson.  Our 5th scorer was Jayde Thomas and despite a great race from our girls only our top 3 will get to move on to Districts.  As a team we were 4th behind State College, Mechanicsburg, and Hershey: all 3 teams that were top 5 at STATES last year!

On the boys's side we got the job done and were the top District 3 team so the team will move on to challenge for the District title next Saturday.  Leading the way were Kevin Shank and Evan Peachey, followed closely by Andrew Diehl, Briar Thompson, and Conner Morrow.

Congratulations to the Boys Cross-Country team members on their 5th consecutive Commonwealth Division Title!  The Herd wrapped up the regular season on Thursday wins up in Mifflin County over both the Huskies and the Eagles of Cumberland Valley.  The boys completed another undefeated run through the Commonwealth with a 20-35 win over Cumberland Valley and an identical 20-35 win over Mifflin County.  Leading the way for our boys were Evan Peachey, Kevin Shank, Andrew Booths, Andrew Diehl, and Briar Thompson, who all finished in front of the #2 runners from the other schools.

On the girls side it was a similar story last night as the girls came through with 2 wins as well.  We defeated the Lady Huskies by a score of 21-40, and came out on top of the Lady Eagles by a 24-31 margin.  Leading the way for our girls were Sophie Salomone, Gretal Shank, Karlie Powell, Alyssa Dyson, and Jayde Thomas.

Next up for the team will be the Mid-Penn meet where only 2 teams will be permitted to advance to Districts in this year of COVID.

Tuesday afternoon Carlisle Cross-Country teams headed to CD East to take on both East and the Chambersburg Trojans.  Our girls team was shut out by the heavily favored Lady Trojans who are ranked as one of the top teams in Pennsylvania this Fall.  Final score was 15-50.  The Chambersburg girls hadn't beaten Carlisle in a dual meet since 2016 and exacted some revenge over their loss to the Lady Herd at last year's District III Championships.  Our girls did come through with a 20-43 win over CD East.

On the boys side it was a battle of the only two undefeated boys teams in the Commonwealth and the Herd came through with a resounding victory.  It was at CD East against Chambersburg when our Carlisle boys last suffered a dual meet defeat in 2015, but history did NOT repeat itself on Tuesday.  Taking 5 of the top 7 places in the race the Herd overwhelmed the Trojans by a score of 19-36.  Contributing to the big win was race winner Evan Peachey, then Kevin Shank, Andrew Diehl, Briar Thompson, and Andrew Booths.   Carlisle also took the win against CD East by a score of 15-48.

State College came to Carlisle for a battle of Cross-Country powerhouses.  Carlisle girls had not lost a dual meet in four years, but all streaks must come to an end eventually and the Lady Lions who were runners-up at States last year, were too much for us.  State College ended our girls run with a 19-39 win on the Travis Trail.  Scoring for Carlisle were the top 5: Sophie Salomone, Gretal Shank, Karlie Powell, Alyssa Dyson, and Jayde Thomas.

The Carlisle boys last lost a dual meet in September of 2015 when this year's senior class was in the 7th grade.  State College did not compete against CV and Chambersburg on Tuesday so that they could attempt to end our dominance of the Conference Tuesday evening, but fell short 27-29.  The Thundering Herd continued to roll on past the Little Lions led by Kevin Shank, Evan Peachey, Andrew Booths, Andrew Diehl, Briar Thompson, and Jacob Owen
