Carlisle vs Chambersburg

Wednesday, April 26

Carlisle hosted Chambersburg yesterday in Track and Field and won both boys' and girls' meets.

The girls meet was as close as it gets as we ended up winning with the absolute minimum: 75 points. Of the 17 contested events, we won 11 of them and the Lady Trojans only 6, but the much larger Chambersburg school had athletes everywhere and picked up many more 2nds and 3rds in the scoring events. Our stars garnered us enough individual "W's" to pull through with the team win. Najae Nickerson won 3 events and got a 2nd in her 4th event to account for 18 points on her own. Marlise Newson was our lone double event winner at long and triple. Other individual winners were Emma Stephens, Tyra Brown, Abby Walters, and Savannah Hossfeld.

The Girls are now 3-2 on the season and are ready to improve upon our runners-up finish at Districts last year!

The Herd boys swept aside the Trojans by an 89-52 score. Leading the way for the Herd were our double event winners: Prince Gaye and Deshawn Millington. Other individual event winners were Kevin Suero, Gavyn Barnes, Justin Trollinger, Bryce Dunkelberger, Max Fiorentino, Isaac Kole, and Trent Balestri.

The boys are now 5-0 on the season with only CD East and Harrisburg left on the schedule for the regular season.

Carlisle vs State College

Wednesday, April 19

Carlisle hosted State College yesterday in Track and Field and had some fantastic results.

The girls meet was close at points, but State College pulled away with some big sweeps in several events. The girls came away with a loss 93-57. However, in the process Najae Nickerson re-set her own school record in the 300 hurdles which was one of the three events she won for us on the day. Other individual event winners were Savannah Hossfeld, Meg Lebo, Emma Stephens, Tyra Brown, and Jilian Ingram. The Girls are now 2-2 on the season.

On the boys side the Herd avenged last year's rout to the Little Lions and sent them home wondering what had happened. In what could have been a coin flip our boys stepped up in all event areas and literally ran away from the defending State Champions by a 93-57 final score. The Herd was led by four double event winners: Justin Trollinger, Deshawn Millington, Sam Affolder, and Mychael Thomas. Other individual event winners were Prince Gaye and Kevin Suero.

The boys are the final team left standing undefeated in the Commonwealth with all sights now set on the post-season.

Carlisle vs Central Dauphin

Wednesday, April 12

Carlisle hosted Central Dauphin teams yesterday in Track and Field and came away with wins on both sides.

The girls meet was a tale of two separate events as the Lady Rams outscored us in the field events 39-24. Our girls overpowered them on the track though pulling out an 84-66 overall victory, while winning all three relays. Leading the way for the girls was double event winner Najae Nickerson who won both hurdle races. Other individual event winners were Savannah Hossfeld, Meg Lebo, Allison Neslund, and Jilian Ingram. The Girls are now 2-1 on the season.

On the boys side the Herd routed the Rams by a 117-33 final score. The Herd was led by four double event winners: Justin Trollinger, Kevin Suero, Prince Gaye, and Mychael Thomas. Other individual event winners were Trey Perry, Sam Bulmenthal, Jack Wisner, Sam Affolder, and Deshawn Millington.

The boys remain undefeated at 3-0 with the defending PIAA State Champions from State College coming to town next week on Tuesday.

Carlisle at Cumberland Valley

Wednesday, April 5

The Thundering Herd travelled to Cumberland Valley to take on the Eagles in Track and Field and came home with a split decision.

The girls meet was close throughout and in Track and Field terms was a true coin flip. An inch here, a tenth of a second there, decided the meet and the girls fell 82-68. Meg Lebo and Najae Nickerson were double event winners for the Lady Herd. Other event winners were Meg Tate, Tyra Brown, Savannah Hossfeld, and Jilian Ingram.

On the boys side the Herd pulled out a 90-60 victory on the strength of double event winners Mychael Thomas, Kevin Suero, and Sam Affolder. Other individual event winners were Justin Trollinger, Deshawn Millington, Prince Gaye, and Caleb Padgett.
