Middle School Orchestra students
will receive a folder containing a CASD Orchestra Supplemental packet with lesson material, and a packet of orchestral literature/concert music.
Additionally, each student should have a copy of the correct lesson book for their current level. Students/families are responsible for purchasing the lesson books that are used in instrumental lessons.
Be
aware that the COLOR of the book cover represents the level, and
that these books are each published in different versions for each
instrument. Please check carefully to be sure you are buying/ordering
the correct instrument and level.

The following is the current sequence of lesson books used in the CASD Orchestra Program:
LEVEL ONE
(Generally used in Grades 4/5)
Essential Elements 2000, Book 1 (orange cover)
LEVEL TWO
(Generally used in Grades 6/7)
Essential Elements 2000, Book 2 (purple cover)
LEVEL 3
(Generally used in Grades 8)
Essential Technique 2000, Book 3 (green cover)
