The students in Mr. Fox's Communications Technology class visited abc27 last week. They toured the newsroom, set, and production areas. They also met with staff and management about career advice and pathways to success.
After seeing the production areas, the students watched abc27 staff finalize their rundown and execute the news at Noon. The Comm-Tech students at CHS all perform the same roles and use much of the same equipment as abc27, so they valued the opportunity to see their classroom exercises (Herd-TV) come to life in the real world.
This field trip was a homecoming of sorts for Mr. Fox. He was a news photographer at abc27 for 14 years.
Jackson Doyle, a Senior in the program added, "it was very inspiring, and I can't wait to see what opportunities this will provide in the future."
