College Entrance Exam Information

Please plan ahead for the standardized tests that will benefit you as you prepare for post-secondary education.  Watch deadlines for registration!  Also, please research whether or not the schools to which you are applying require the SAT or the ACT.

PSAT
The PSAT will be held each year in October at Carlisle High School.  The PSAT is highly recommended for college-bound juniors. This practice test will help prepare students to take the SAT at a later date. Scores of Juniors may be eligible for National Merit Scholarships.  Contact Mrs. Geier at [email protected] for details. 

SAT
Many four-year colleges and universities require the SAT as criteria for admission. The SAT will be held at CHS (Test Center 39182) on the following Saturdays in the 2025-2026 School Year:

ACT
Some four-year colleges and universities will also accept ACT scores as part of their admission process.  Registration and test dates can be found at www.act.org.  We do not offer this at CHS.  The closest testing site is Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg.

ASVAB
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test is administered twice each year at CHS -- in September and January. This is a great career exploration survey for students – not just those considering a career in the military.
