Scissors have two holes. The small hole is for your thumb and the big hole is to fit three of your fingers. Scissors are only for cutting paper and nothing else. Scissors are sharp and should never be facing your belly. You should avoid walking with scissors and always carry them pointing away from yourself. 
 
Scissors are not ambidextrous. The upper blade should be on the left side so you can see the cutting line. Scissors have two holes.
