On Wednesday, April 10th, the Carlisle Art & Design Department will by hosting our annual opening reception of the district wide art exhibit and Empty Bowls event located in the Fowler Center. The art teachers in your building have been preparing for this event and we hope that you will get a chance to stop by and see the hundreds of works of art from students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Elementary art is located on the second floor. Secondary art is located downstairs.

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) will also be hosting its seventh annual Empty Bowls Event. Empty Bowls is an international effort to raise awareness in the fight to end hunger. Handmade ceramic bowls will be sold (suggested $10.00 donation to the cause). All donations from event will go to the Project Share Food Bank. The National Art Honors Society, and the organizers Rachel Drumheller and Fran Tolan have been preparing for this event all year and we hope that you will get a chance to stop by to pick up a bowl. Also, special thanks to the Bison Foundation for supporting Empty Bowls!

This exhibit and Empty Bowls is usually well attended and it has always been a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creative talent of our students with proud parents.  We know how busy your lives are, and we hope that you will be able to stop by for just a few minutes any time throughout the night. We will be there from 5:00 pm– 7:00 pm. Family members are welcome to join you! This year we will have an art scavenger hunt, live music, and wheel throwing demonstrations.

Hope to see you at the reception tomorrow, April 10th! The show will remain hanging until 3 PM on May 1st.
